with New publications and offers them for free
Within its strategic plan aiming at providing integrated research and knowledge services and enriching its smart applications, the National Archives launched three new publications at its electronic platform. These publications cover a number of aspects of the biography of the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, as well as chapters of the history of the United Arab Emirates. These publications contribute to the diversity of the National Archives electronic platform and promote the national values and knowledge of the stakeholders by instilling and reinforcing in them the values of Sheikh Zayed and his national principles.
Within its “Centennial Initiative”, which was launched in celebration of the Year of Zayed, the National Archives gives access to the public to download its smart applications free for a period of 100 days starting from April 25. It also provides the public through its electronic platform with the publications: “50 Years in Al Ain Oasis”, “Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan: Ruler of Al Ain” and “The Petroleum Gulf”. Visitors to the National Archives’ website can download the above-mentioned books during the given period for the free downloading of its smart applications during 100 days.
It is noteworthy that these publications are currently available for downloading on smartphones and iPads using iOS operating system. Efforts are still being made to have the same available for smartphones and tablets using Android operating system as soon as possible.
These publications promote the National Archives’ applications, most prominent of them is: “Sheikh Zayed Audio Library”, which contains hundreds of audio recordings of great quotes of a great leader on various local, Arab and international topics and issues; the chronicles of UAE great leaders, the first of these series is “Zayed’s Chronicles” in a new edition that monitors all the daily concerns of the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan and his activities in various aspects of life, in five volumes covering the period from 1966 to 2004; and then come the chronicles of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Al Maktoum.
The Sheikhs’ chronicles contain all the social, economic, media and political activities and events of Their Highnesses the Sheikhs in a chronological and objective order throughout the covered period. These chronicles come with photo appendices that document the aspects of the Sheikhs’ activities and achievements, and the detailed tables of contents.
The new publications document the history and heritage of the UAE; the book: “50 Years in Al Ain Oasis” traces the remarkable development and prosperity of the UAE in the field of agriculture and the spread of palm trees. It documents the efforts of the Founding Leader, Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, in transforming the land of the United Arab Emirates from desert to green gardens.
The book: “Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan: Ruler of Al Ain” reaffirms that Sheikh Zayed worked, when he took the reins of power in Al Ain, with wisdom to organize the house from inside and then he built good relations with the neighbors. His policy strengthened Abu Dhabi influence in the region, and his management of Al Ain signaled the emergence of a wise leader and a politician of a high caliber who captured the love of everyone.
The book “The Petroleum Gulf” tells the details of the discovery and development of offshore oil fields in the UAE, and monitors the emergence of the offshore oil industry from its early beginnings up to its modern operations and the accompanying human stories.
